How to Keep Your Fuego Dance Sneakers Clean

by Dance Makers, 8.5.2025

Have you just bought a brand-new pair of Fuego dance sneakers and want to keep them looking fresh and shiny for as long as possible? With these tips, you'll succeed for sure!

Regular Cleaning

It’s especially important to clean white shoes regularly to maintain their neat appearance and keep them in good condition. After each use, wipe your shoes with a soft, slightly damp microfiber cloth. For stubborn stains, you can use a mild soap solution (e.g., dish soap + water) along with a soft brush or sponge. Gently scrub the stain, being careful not to use too much force to avoid damaging the surface material. After cleaning, wipe again with a damp cloth.

Deep Cleaning

From time to time, your shoes might need a deeper clean. Fabric parts can be cleaned with a mild soap solution, using a soft toothbrush, for example. However, avoid over-soaking the shoes to prevent water from seeping in deeply. Leather or faux leather parts can be cleaned with a cleaner suitable for leather. Avoid harsh chemicals, as they can damage the material.

Soles

Dance shoes, especially if worn outdoors, may also need sole cleaning. Clean the soles separately using dish soap and an old toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft towel.

Drying

After cleaning, let your shoes dry at room temperature. You can place newspaper or shoe trees inside to help maintain their shape. Avoid drying your shoes in direct sunlight or on a radiator, as high heat can damage the materials.

White Shoes

White shoes are particularly prone to getting dirty. To keep them looking fresh, use products designed for cleaning white shoes, such as white shoe polish or paint, if they start to look worn. Avoid dark dyes that can seep into the material.

Protection

To prevent dirt buildup, you can use a water- and dirt-repellent shoe spray that is suitable for the shoe’s materials (e.g., Collonil Organic Cover). Treat your shoes regularly to maintain the protective layer.

During Use

Keep your sneakers reserved exclusively for dancing and avoid wearing them outdoors, which can cause premature wear and dirt buildup. To combat sweat and its side effects, like odors, during dancing, you can use a shoe deodorant (e.g., Collonil Shoe Deodorant) or a foot spray (e.g., Bama Silky Comfort). This will keep your shoes fresh and dry, even during sweaty dance nights!
